Digital filters allow desired messages to flow from one network to the other despite differences in baud rate. This allows the bridge module to act as a node on each network while also serving as a bridge between networks.
A key feature of M-Flex CAN Bridge modules is the ability to filter messages passed between the two networks. Filters are available for each channel that can be configured to pass or block messages based upon the entire CAN ID, J1939 PGN or J1939 Source Address. This provides a simple, efficient means of bus load management.
The baud rates and filters are configured using Marlin’s M-Flex CAN Bridge User Interface software that is available for download. Optionally, Marlin can program your default configuration into modules prior to shipment.
M-Flex CAN Bridge modules were designed specifically for severe duty, outdoor mobile applications. Typical applications include the construction, turf care, agriculture, utility, marine, military, and outdoor power equipment markets.
Designed for a wide array of applications, the M-Flex CAN Bridge has direct connections between the two bus networks and provides up to 20 filters to pass or block messages between networks. This allows the bridge module to act as a node on each network while also serving as a bridge between networks.
The Isolated M-Flex CAN Bridge electrically isolates the two bus networks, allowing connection to networks operating at different voltage potentials as well as different speeds. The Isolated CAN Bridge also offers up to 40 to pass or block messages between networks. This module can be used to manage bus loads whether the isolated feature is required or not, and the larger number of filters improves specificity of message transfer.
The M-Flex MFD Gateway bridges the J1939 and NMEA 2000 networks, connecting Marlin’s digital switcher to your multifunction display. This bridge allows control of your boat’s navigation and anchor lights, spreader lights, bilge pumps, RGB lights, flood lights, livewell and baitwell pumps, etc., from the MFD or from Marlin’s keypads.
